Right after the gallery talk the guests proceeded to the lobby of Blaisdell Hall for some refreshments. There I had the chance to talk to them and have some exchange of pleasantries and warm handshakes in that cold Pittsburgh winter.

About Me

joel ferraris: I am the eldest in the family of artists. My three brohers, one sister, my wife, her sister (who happens to be my brother's wife) and my cousin are into arts and crafts. Our late father and our uncle did graphic design and crafts too while our mom did fashion design. So art seems to run in the family and is showing signs of being inherited by our children. FERRARIS ART STUDIO is a company of the Ferraris Family of artists and creative professionals. We are all self-taught, learned from and have competed against each other but inspired one another. My own personal preoccupation now, aside from earning a living for my family through art, is to educate people about the role of art in spirituality and to rectify the use of art that lead to idolatry. Art, although believed to be a kind of international visual language, could speak a thousand words through the images made out of it and could therefore act as textbooks to the ignorant. That's why an accompanying literature and verbal explanation about the true essence of Christianity, aside from the artists' own struggle for personal holiness, could greatly help bring spiritual enlightenment to people.
